Woodworking 101: An Introduction to Tablemaking

Join us at the Community Workshop NOLA makerspace to learn basic woodworking skills and make a beautiful table of your own. In this 8 week workshop, you will learn how to design a table, purchase wood, use woodworking tools and equipment, and finishing techniques. You choose the design and dimensions of the table and purchase your own wood for your project, with the assistance of the instructor. At the end of the 8 weeks you will leave with a wealth of woodworking knowledge and a beautiful handmade table. This class is open to all! No woodworking experience required.

Come enjoy our shop and tools, make friends, and learn a new skill.

This workshop takes place on the same day every week for 8 consecutive weeks.

Individual tickets and couples tickets available. Come make a table yourself or grab a buddy to make it with you!

This workshop will take place at our shop located at 1201 Mazant St.

About the Instructor

Carrie Rasor is an artist and woodworker who is constantly exploring different mediums and materials to create with. She is passionate about teaching woodworking and creating a space for makers to learn and create. Carrie owns Community Workshop NOLA, a community makerspace located in the Bywater, as well as works part time with two nonprofits, Dykes With Drills and 1881 Institute to teach people woodworking skills.
