Join Community Workshop NOLA to learn basic woodworking and upholstery skills while making a unique upholstered bench.

Participants will assemble, apply finish, and upholster a small bench. Wood will be premilled before class but cut to specific length depending on requested bench size. Students will learn the chop saw, pocket hole jig, drills, and drivers. After the bench is assembled participants will sand and apply the desired finish of paint, stain, or clear finish. Community Workshop NOLA has some finishes available but it is limited so we encourage everyone to reach out in advance in case you would like to bring your own. While the finish dries participants will upholster the top. Participants will have to bring their own fabric. This class is open to all! No woodworking experience required. Come enjoy our shop and tools, make friends, and learn a new skill.
